Developing new products is not just about innovation—it’s about impact. Circularity and sustainability are key factors in modern manufacturing, and making the right choices isn’t always easy. That’s why Cradlenet have teamed up with AMEXCI to guide you through:
🔍 How to measure circularity and sustainability in Additive Manufacturing
🌱 Where we stand today in circular and sustainable AM practices
♻️ How to use AM effectively through circular economy principles
Training objectives
At the end of course you will:
Have a basic understanding of some sustainability related concepts like carbon footprint, LCA and circular economy
Understand the basics of LCA of AM parts: what to keep in mind when you look at such information.
Have a view on where AM could be applied to contribute towards more circular, sustainable and resilient products.
Minimizing environmental impact when designing a part for AM
Agenda
The training consists of a half-day online training followed by a full-day onsite training at AMEXCI’s facility in Örebro.
Part 1: Online introduction (half a day)
Introduction to AMEXCI & Cradlenet
Why circularity and sustainability are important
Circularity and sustainability concepts
Introduction to Additive Manufacturing
Part 2: At AMEXCI in Örebro (1 day)
AM, circularity and sustainability – where are we?
LCA of AM: how it works, examples, tools available, comparisons between different tools, limitations, how to compare to conventional manufacturing
AM, circularity and sustainability by industry sector
Current shortcomings and how they can be improved
Additive manufacturing and circular economy, where are the sweet spots?
Where can AM be useful in terms of circular economy
What are the other advantages of AM in terms of creating more sustainable products
How to design for more sustainable products
Simple rules when designing for AM to minimize waste and energy usage
Conclusion
Cost
